As I learned in previous chapters, there is always an underlying reason for why a child is acting out and being defiant. set-back and foremost, (in my own opinion) If I realize a child has such a consistent pattern in rude conduct like Tom, I would address it in the beginning and pronounce to figure out how I can stop this appearance from disrupting my class.

A teacher doesnt just befuddle a large amount of influence on the students, but he or she has a lot of power. Mr. Thomas Gordon says You acquire much influence with young people when you give up apply your power to defend them…[and] the more you use power ro control people, the less influence youll have over their lives I completely agree with him. Just like how when we were much younger, we would become even more defiant when our parents showed too much power and control, students scent the same.



In a sense us teacher cast off the same value as a parent.

How would I carry on Toms hostile and defiant behavior? I would never call a child out in front of the classroom. Doing so make a child flavor humiliated and it may worsen the current situation. Instead, I would have the classroom participate in an activity that focuses on how a student should act in the classroom, and how they should approach other students and closely manners and respecting others. In this way, Im not singling Tom out. Im letting him have an understanding of what he should be doing in a classroom.
