Term Paper: Harry S. Truman 1. Harry Truman was born on May 8, 1884 at Lamar, Missouri, as the oldest child. He had a brother, whoremonger Vivian along with sister Mary Jane Truman. His family moved several clock during his childhood. For example, in 1890, his have John Anderson Truman, who was a farmer and a livestock dealer, moved with his family from Grandview to Independence (Ferris 271).
