Continental Philosophy

Philosophy that was created after Hegelian noble-mindedness was mostly a response to Hegel. This response to Hegel is also known as Continental Philosophy. Analytic philosophy became the tradition of England and the United States. Within Continental Philosophy there be several schools of philosophical thought. Hermeneutics, deconstruction, and minute theory argon some of these schools. The two most powerful schools among Continental Philosophy are existentialism and phenomenology.
The optimistic idealism of Hegel fueled many philosophers. Philosophers handle Søren Kierkegaard and Friedrich Nietzsche, had a tough dislike for Hegel. Their dislike was driven by Hegels refusal to have it off the human predicament. They believed that the universe was rarely rational and that Hegel, and all metaphysical systems, was a pointless attempt to overcome pessimism and despair.
Søren Kierkegaard and Friedrich Nietzsche were very important to existentialism, among others such as Robert Camus.



The main ideas of existentialism are that the world is absurd, the world is irrational, the individual chooses how to live, the focus of philosophy should be on the individual and their interaction with the world, senselessness, emptiness, triviality, separation, and inability to communicate change human existence, giving birth to anxiety, dread, self-doubt, and despair. These main ideas of existentialism are reflected in each of these philosophers ideas.
Kierkegaard believed that despair was a indisposition that leads to destruction. This sickness of despair was what Kierkegaard believed to be the main philosophical problem. Kierkegaards first harmonic philosophical question asked if there was anything inside the world or outside of it that a person could use to sustain death by despair. The entire earth to Kierkegaard was a place of suffering, fear, and dread.
