Narrative Essay

In both Amy false topazs short story name search Cheeks and in Maya Angelou short story titled sorcerer of the world both authors express civilisations in similar pen styles, but under different situations. Culture is defined as the behaviors and beliefs fiberistic of a particular social, ethnic, or age group. In Tan and Angelous stories they use man vs. society as the dispute in which the characters are faced with. For the story Fish Cheeks the Chinese girl is hiding from her culture. As for the story whizz of the world the Africans are hidden from society but suffer in that location culture.
In Champion of the world Angelou commits the African culture in a perspective that non Africans are able to see. Meaning, in the 1930s Africans were being tough as slaves. They were always pushed around and treated just as mild class heap until finally someone stepped in and put an end to it. Angelou however discuses to us that before the fight they were treated the same way. Joe who is the black fighter was being punched around by the etiolated hombre for a while. Towards the end of the fight he finally comes back to win the fight against the white guy and prove to people that Africans are the same as white people.



Although blacks were hidden from society because they felt that it was the way American people were treating them, they still always accepted there culture. In the introductory line of the story Angelou says every last inch of quad was filled, yet people continued to wedge themselves along the walls of the Store. What this refer means is that no matter what people thought of them in society there were still going to accept there culture no matter what. This is a social conflict in which these Africans are having throughout society.
