When a state of multitude is overwhelmed by authorities rules and restrictions, slightly individuals find it very hard to live and survive with their ordeal. create you ever been one of those people? Well Katniss Everdeen has, and had to appear government tortures and watch people experience them. Some people ar strong and stand up to their rights to face the wrong behaviour of their oppressor, but some cant afford to go for sacrifice and lose what they have. This infrastructure is very well set up throughout a novel c eached The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins. She describes how the people in the districts have to live under certain circumstances, face humiliation, torture, and not being able to do anything about it.
This theme is first revealed to the reader when the protagonist character of the novel, Katniss Everdeen, describes the poverty and rigorousness that District twelve endures as a result of the Capitols restrictions. … trespassing in the woods is illegal and poaching carries the severest of penalties… (Collins 5). Also, the capitol only when provides little food and resources to its citizens which barely meet everyday hold needs. Even though its illegal to pass the electric car wires surrounding District twelve, Katniss risks her life to do so and set out food and other resources for her mother and sister.



Unfortunately not all people are willing to go out and touch their need because they dont want to face the sharp penalties that the Capitol imposes.
Further into the novel the theme further develops when the reaping for the Hunger Games begins. The reaping is some other way that the government controls its citizens because it is an unfair system that lies between the monied and the poor. Each tesserae is worth a meager years supply of grain and oil for one person (Collins 13). to the highest degree people in the district cannot afford those supplies. Thats why its a disadvantage to poor people, because they would have to write down their names more times in exchange for tesserae.
