The Rise and Decline of the Mongol Empire
Temujin, better known as Genghis Khan, became a universal swayerr in 1206 he and then led the Nomadic people to victory several times. The Mongols finish up creating a great empire that spread from the yellow(a) Sea to Baghdad. The reasons for their success were based on strategy, tactics, operations, logistics and unconventional warfare. The defy of the Mongols could be attributed to its size and aristocracy.
The Mongols had several favors over its enemies. nonpareil advantage was location. The Mongols were Nomadic people. That is people that lived off of the land and traveled fit in to season. The Mongolian Empire was the largest empire in history. Their position do it easy for them to attack the Chinese to the east, the southern Muslims, and The Europeans to their west. The Mongols had an advantage because they were positioned in the mountains and enemies were not necessarily used to fighting in such terrain. Before starting a campaign, the Mongols would gather intelligence cultivation via spies, merchants and scouts (Miranda). The Mongols would use their horses as an advantage for their operations. They could move them from place to place and eat them if needed. Many times they would drink the blood for the nutritional value.



The horses were a huge help during travel and bore the brunt of the sometimes thousand miles of walking.
The Mongols would often plan a campaign to apply advantage of the weather. Russian armies were not accustomed to the harsh spend battles. What the Mongols did that was unique was to deliberately exploit terror as a propaganda weapon to demoralize their foes (Miranda). Genghis Khan had the world believeing that he and his successors were to rule the world. Khan believed that the enemies should be defeated and absorbed into the Mongolian Empire. One flaw, however, was that the Mongols relied on a small ruling elite.
