The Pearl
In La Paz, Mexico a family of three live unitedly until one day their beloved child sustains stung by a poisonous scorpion. later the scorpion stings Coyotito their child, the mother Juana and the father gum kino decide to take the baby to the closest doctor in town. After they sterilize to the doctor, the doctor says that he will not treat the baby because kino gum force outt deport the doctors fee. After the rejection of the doctor, Kino and his wife get back to the colonization. They leave their child Coyotito in gods hands and leave it up to hope.
Later on Kino and his wife get on a canoe and excoriation sailing, and Kino gets off the canoe and dives into the water and starts to search for pearls. After searching for a while Kino finds an enormous oyster, which gives him a feeling that he will become a squiffy man. After retrieving the oyster and cracking it open he realizes that he has found a giant pearl. He gives the pearl he found the name, The Pearl of the World. After getting back to the small town the word spreads very quickly and everyone starts to think of ways to slip the pearl from Kino. While the other villagers are thinking of ways to steal the pearl, Kino falls asleep and sees a dream.



In his dream Kino sees himself marrying Juana in a church, buying himself a rifle and sending his child Coyotito to school, so that he can require to read. He wants Coyotito to be the first in the family to learn to read and write. Kino believes that learning to read will slack the village from being poor.
After the word spreads throughout the village the doctor who earlier didnt treat Coyotito goes to Kinos house to treat the child. Although, Coyotito has already healed by Juanas treatment, the doctor soon convinces Kino that Coyotito is still ill and that he will die if not treated by a doctor. After talking with each the doctor asks Kino where he has hidden the bang-up pearl. Then Kino takes out the great pearl and shows it to the doctor.
